Coral Sea Villas is a boutique resort, nestled on the leeward side of
flagstaff hill on Macrossan street. The nine villas are a queenslander style with verandas and private courtyards overlooking tropical gardens.
One of the first strata titled apartment hotels providing accommodation in Port Douglas. The resort has
been renovated externally and internally however still exudes character and
charm with original features such as cathedral ceilings with a skylight
in the living area, terracotta tiles and of course the trade mark
Queenslander white paint work and timber balcony railings.
The developer and original manager of the resort lived directly behind the
property on Flagstaff hill in two pole houses separated by a rainforest
area. Guests had access to this rainforest garden and were invited to sit
and enjoy the shade and sample the lady finger bananas.
This secluded area behind the resort still has a variety of large trees
including banana palms, an avocado tree and the 14 metre jungle pool.
The sundeck poolside at the east end receives sun for the majority of the
day whilst the west end is mostly shaded. The pool also has a shallow
one and a half metre wide platform ideal for small children.
Our tropical climate is perfect for outdoor activities and the recent
facility upgrades including a covered bar-b-que shade house seating
eight, a seating area with an extensive tour desk and sun lounges poolside
make the most of open spaces.
The private courtyard gardens in the garden view villas are ideal for 2
or 3 families travelling together as the outdoor areas, separated by
plantings, can be opened to allow access so meals can be shared together.
The deluxe villa have a private courtyard adjoining the second bedroom
and a small balcony with a breakfast table for outdoor dining.
